The Society for Arabian Studies is pleased to announce the next in its series of biennial
conferences, entitled Death, Burial and the Transition to the Afterlife in Arabia and
Adjacent Regions, to take place at the British Museum from November 27-29, 2008.

The Society has supported various publications, including a Festschrift
in honour of the Society's President, Miss Beatrice de Cardi, entitled

The Society has also helped to negotiate the reissue of G.S.P. Freeman-Grenville's
"Islamic and Christian Calendars", and has published a survey of the towers of
Ras al-Khaimah by Dr. Derek Kennet.
