The Society for Arabian Studies is pleased to announce the next in its series of biennial conferences, entitled Death, Burial and the Transition to the Afterlife in Arabia and Adjacent Regions, to take place at the British Museum from November 27-29, 2008. Full conference details here.

Past:

Red Sea Project IV: Connected Hinterlands. The fourth international conference on the peoples of the Red Sea region was held 25-26 September 2008. Further information here.

The Society has supported various publications, including a Festschrift in honour of the Society's President, Miss Beatrice de Cardi, entitled "Arabia and Its Neighbours". For further details, please see under Monographs.

The Society has also helped to negotiate the reissue of G.S.P. Freeman-Grenville's "Islamic and Christian Calendars", and has published a survey of the towers of Ras al-Khaimah by Dr. Derek Kennet.
